Yuletide is here again!

I was frantically refreshing my email all day long until I thought to check the admin lj and read that gmail was randomly sorting yuletide assignments as spam. I'm so excited for my prompt!! I hope my person likes what I'm going to do with it.
If I am your person, A, congratulations on making it here LOL. I realized this morning that I typed my lj address wrong on the sign up form. Oops!
B, my Dear Yuletide letter:
Generally speaking, I read slash and yaoi. Sujini and Damdeok are the first het couple I've been interested in fannishly since back before Buffy/Spike became canon. But who can resist Sujini? To me, she's the female Han Solo. Or maybe she's just a happier, Korean version of BSG's Starbuck. Either way, she's awesome, and Damdeok is one smooth operator.
But, in a broader sense, whether it's Sujini/Damdeok or Kiyomine/Takara, I am mainly a romance fan. I'm a voracious reader (delicious currently 962 bookmarks and counting since November 2007) and primarily what I read are love stories. Not the fluffy or schmoopy type exactly, but love stories about those moments of deep connection that can happen between two very dissimilar people who somehow bump into each other on life's road.
I'm now picturing my poor yuletide writer being a very confused gen fan who dislikes slash lol. Well, if you are, don't panic. Because my second two requests cover that. I wouldn't be upset to see a slash take on Benkei/Yoshitsune or Laurence/Tharkay, but it's certainly not a requirement. If you're more comfortable writing a character development piece, by all means, I'd love to see something like that for Tharkay. For that character in particular you could write anything and it would be wonderful I think, because there's just so much there to be explored.
And for Yoshitsune, well, go crazy man. I love Yoshitsune. I requested him through the Noh play option, but if you want feel free to work from his folklore, the historical accounts, the jdramas, whatever you like. Personally, the two moments of his mythos that stand out in my mind are 1, his battle against Benkei on Gojobashi and 2, heavily pregnant Shizuka dancing for her life before an enraged Yoritomo, although Yoshitsune is present in that scene only by his absence. But, anyway.
Really, do whatever you like. I'll love whatever you come up with.
