This is the first AMV I've done, and it was really interesting seeing the differences between what worked for live action sources versus animated sources. I might ruminate on this a bit more and make a post about the experience.

Naturally, I decided to start on god tier difficulty level, with an anime that has been running for over 20 years and has over 800 episodes with the available source material in 4 different file formats, only 1 of which works with my vidding program natively, with the rest needing to be manually converted. I literally had to buy an additional terabyte of storage before I could do this lol.

That all being said, I absolutely love this vid. It's everything I love about One Piece in a nutshell.

This is the ultimate Steve/Bucky love song for me. I vidded it in my head for five months, and the minute the HQ footage dropped I was all over it. I made this vid in two days, which is ridiculous by my own personal standards. (Particularly since I’ve have discovered that CA:TWS is in 1920x800 and I could only find The Avengers in 1920x1080. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I ended up cropping every Avengers clip carefully by hand, while hating myself lol.)

I wanted to make this vid literally for years, ever since the first Reboot movie came out. I made this using a lot of preview footage and some cam footage from the second movie, so once I have the time I really want to take a weekend and remaster it.

To me, this vid has five acts. Act I: Merlin and Arthur meet and have hate at first sight. Act II: they are stupid dorky boys at each other until eventually they become friends. Act III: they risk their lives to save one another. A lot. Act IV: there are forces working against them, Uther, Nimueh, Merlin's secret, etc. Act V: together, they can overcome anything. :)

So it turns out that, uh, vidding is addictive. And now that I've got a new computer with a meaningful amount of hard drive space... this is only one of three or four vids currently rattling around in my mind.

What IS it with this show?? Not only has it completely eaten fandom, but it's making ME productive. I start things all the time, with lots of ambitious ideas I never follow through on. But not only have I completed a vid, I'm also 4000 words into a fic I might actually finish. THIS IS WEIRD.

Anyway. So, I love vidding, but have never had enough hard drive space to save a meaningful amount of source material. Solution: the one episode vid. And then after watching 1x11, the Labyrinth of Gedref, I realized that I just so happen to have in my music collection a song about a unicorn curse. That's fate, man. You don't mess with that.

If anyone wants a download I can set that up, but otherwise it's on YouTube and Imeem. Imeem has the better picture quality, but on my computer YouTube has a much smoother playback.
